MobiGo 2 is a handheld gaming system for children ages 3-8. It is an inexpensive way to entertain your children and teaching them all in one. We received the MobiGo 2 and my daughter was excited. She loves games and learning so the MobiGo 2 is a two for one deal for her and sure to be a hit. I handed it over to her to let her give it a try first with out any help from me. I wanted to see how kid friendly it was.

Immediately Honey found she LOVED the keyboard and how the screen popped up (kind of like a phone with a keypad). She was able to start and play everything on the MobiGo 2 by herself with no help from me. Once she was ready we popped in the disk that came with the MobiGo 2 to see what it had to offer. (Download Manager-Learning Lodge Navigator). Once I registered our product I was happy to find that we had the option to choose three free downloadable games. The MobiGo 2 has the option to download games right form the computer to your console as well as purchasing cartridges that you can insert to play. I love that you have both options. If all you had was the download option you would soon run out of space.
What is fun and unique about the MobiGo 2 system is the many different ways you can operate it. You have a stylus to draw and move around the screen, you can use it as a steering wheel to move your characters through the games, as well as use sounds to interact with the characters on the screen. If you misplace the stylus not to worry you can still use your finger or the D-pad to move about.

Mobigo2 it can flip up you can type you can downloads and it has a pen and when you finish painting the picture and when your finish you press the star and when you press the star then you can tilt it left and right and the picture will move.

You can do many different activities with the MobiGo 2 such as coloring, reading, playing games, and at the same time learning. Which is a huge plus for us parents. While the age range is 3-8 and my daughter is 6 (almost 7) I really think this product is more for the 3-5 age range. Many of the “learning” games were just a little too simple for my daughter. She loves the hamster game and constantly wants to download new games, she just seems to bore with them quickly due to the level or lack of difficulty in her case.

I love the idea of the progress log to see how she is doing but it is extremely frustrating because I can’t seem to figure out how to get it to upload to the Learning Navigator to show me her progress. I’ve done everything I can think of navigating through everything in the Learning Lodge and on the MobiGo 2. I’ve googled it and searched in support forums. It is possible she just hasn’t played any games that have the “skills” in the Learning Lodge I just wish it would tell me. It just tells me that she needs to play games and once it does it will upload. When I connect it, it does show it is uploading progress but nothing is in the Learning Lodge.

VTech’s progress log is an achievement reporting tool that allows you to see how your kids are learning whilst they play with their VTech web-connected products.

It is easy to set up your account and view reports of your child’s progress which will allow you to stay up-to-date on their favorite gaming subjects, as well as those in which they may need a little more encouragement.

Each time you connect your toys to your computer the report will be updated to provide you with the latest detailed information on all subjects your child has played so that you receive a complete view of their learning achievements, as well as the skills they are exploring. In addition, based on their performance, we will provide you with recommendations on how to further expand their learning and get more out of your VTech toy.

Overall we think this is a really versatile and fun product with the option to expand into reading and purchase additional games. I believe the age range is appropriate for 3-5 years and possible 6 if your child is still just learning.
